Year 1 can’t enjoy the Roald Dahl story Esio Trot without a visit from a tortoise so Mrs Risbin brought in Tony her family’s tortoise who she estimates is around 60 years old! The children were in awe of him and could touch his shell and feed him lettuce.

What a lovely treat! It helped the children envisage what Esio Trot must have been like to look after.
