This is a short video taken by our Art Co ordinator Mrs Hankey last month. It was a very exciting day as she was delivering last year’s Form 6 wire sculptures to The National Gallery, for this Summer’s Take One Picture School’s exhibition. We are very excited to share this news with the school community today – More details will follow on facebook and on our main feed later in the day.

The art department are having fun today working out ways to display the wonderful hand sculptures made recently made by Form 6. With the white backing paper, the sculptures take on a completely different feel, they becoming like continuous line drawings!

Wakanda’ by Sharon Walters @london_artist1 .
Our Form 5 and 6 Art teacher, @clairehankeyartist had an inspirational meeting with Sharon Walters, also known as London_artist1. Form 6 will be studying Sharon’s recent series of work ‘Seeing Ourselves’ and creating their own collage cut out portraits. The series celebrates black women and explores issues around under-representation mainly in western art, heritage and media.
