Positive play zones have been set up this term in the Chapel playground. Supported by Playleaders (roles the Year 6 children have volunteered for), the six zones (Competitive / Target / Creative / Tranquility (Library) / Chalks and Construction) allow children the option to participate in structured activities at playtime.

Mr Mobbs was very busy with Headmaster Awards this week.
Three of our Nursery children brought their work to show him on Thursday. Esme, Joseph and Saracen talked Mr Mobbs through their pictures and stick monster creations before getting a Headmaster’s Award sticker for their excellent work. Like all awarded work, copies will sit proudly on the Award wall alongside other work that has also been celebrated this term from across the year groups. The wall is starting to look very full!
Meanwhile, Muryam and Smilte (Year 6) created a wonderful rainbow painting to hang in our Rainbow medical room; just a kind effort to help cheer up children that find themselves in there. Thank you girls.

After entering the ‘River of Hope’ competition to design a commemorative flag for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee last year and winning a coveted place, the design was turned into a silk flag and used to line the River Thames to mark the occasion.
After its safe return, the flag now has a prominent place on the staircase wall leading to the Form 3 and 4 classrooms and can be seen by all on their way to the refectory too. The flag has been carefully framed in protective perspex to preserve it for a very long time as a reminder of what a very special occasion the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee was.

Feeling the Love in Reception đź’ť
We have been thinking about St Valentine as Valentine’s Day falls in half term. We learned about his life, and thought about who we love and who loves us. We discussed how we show love to others and what it feels like to know that we are loved.
Then we completed a range of crafts including card making with resources provided, but entirely child-led work, making a love bug to give to a friend and making hearts or patterns in red glitter. Whether or not you get a Valentine’s Day card, we hope you feel the love from Reception.
