Well done to the Year 1 & 2 pupils who took part in the SPSSA KS1 Football Tournament Semi-Finals. Pipped at the last minute from first to second place, they are still making their way to the Finals in March.

Miss Fox said, ‘I’m really proud how the team worked together and played so well, with some great passing. There is a lot of promising talent amongst the players and I have high hopes for the final. Come on boys!’.

What a great start to the term!!

Pupils from Years 5 & 6 gave their best yesterday at the SPSSA Sports Hall Athletics Competition and came out top in the Small Schools category! They will now go on to represent Southend in the Essex Finals.

Further impressive news is that the team came fourth out of the 24 schools(!!) that participated. A huge achievement and well deserved. ‘I’m really proud of the students, they have worked so hard and showed great teamwork, well done everyone!’ Miss Fox (Head of PE)

We couldn’t be any prouder of our SPSSA Prep Borough Sports Squad!!

Third overall and third in the track events – well done for putting in a fantastic effort on what was a scorching day!

Lots of team camaraderie, support and sharing in each other’s success was displayed this afternoon, making your teachers very proud of you.

An ice-cream is well deserved!

Our Sports Department is always busy but last week was particularly so.

Firstly, our Year 6 girls took part in the Southend Borough Netball competition on Thursday 2nd March and through great effort and a strong team mentality, they made it through to the Finals on the 13th March.

The Year 5 & 6 Tag Rugby team were out on the Southend Rugby Club playing fields on Friday for the Essex Tag Rugby Competition. The team worked incredibly hard playing 12 games(!!) losing only one to the overall winners. Well done team!

Finally, on Saturday, it was off to Leeds and the impressive grounds of Worksop College for the ISA Cross Country Finals for Samantha, Folabi and Freya. The pupils put in their best efforts and came 34th, 37th and 54th respectively. A huge well done to you all!

Further sports updates for this week will include sports hall athletics, netball and gymnastics!
