National Fitness Day highlights how sport and physical activity can not only benefit our mental and physical health, but our social lives too by joining in group activities.
Today the children across the school were involved in team sports and individual activities to boost their fitness.

Year 5’s trip to Othona last week had them working with a compass and making a fire from scratch. They gathered kindling and used cotton wool and a flint stick to get the fire going. Pupils then boiled nettle leaves and ate them once they had cooled down. Apparently, they taste like a cross between spinach and cucumber and have more six times more vitamin C than in oranges or lemons! Let’s get boiling ☕

Busy start to the week already!
Firstly a Headmaster’s Award was given to both Harry and Luther (Year 1) for doing so well in their spelling tests.
Form 4 also had their outdoor education day, but before some of them had time to say, “Well, that was a fun day!” they were off to participate in a friendly netball competition with neighbouring schools along with players from Form 6.
And of course, it was Pancake Day! Many year groups enjoyed making and eating pancakes in their cookery lessons, although we think Reception had the most fun!!

Children in Forms 3 & 4 have been learning an all important life skill this week – cooking! On the menu were pitta pizzas and jacket potatoes.
Everyone is clearly very proud of the results!
