Back-to-back champions! Year 5 and 6 have triumphed once more, securing victory in the SPSSA Sports Hall Athletics Finals for the second consecutive year. Their dominant performance resulted in a decisive lead on the points table. Representing Southend in the Essex finals at Garons after our success in the Borough event, the children worked hard giving their best jumps, throws and running at top speeds.

Congratulations to all the pupils, a fantastic team effort, and a huge thank you to the dedicated PE staff!”

We had a fantastic time hosting Chalkwell Hall Junior School for a friendly netball match today! It was a wonderful opportunity for both teams to get valuable practice and, most importantly, have fun.

Our St. Michael’s squad is looking sharp and ready for the SPSSA borough tournament next week! 💛💙

To highlight the positives of neurodiversity, Mr Mobbs had an assembly with the whole school to discuss the achievements of people we all may know who have gone on to do great things.

Neurodiversity Celebration Week was set up in 2018 to change the way learning differences are perceived. Often, the focus is on the challenges of neurological diversity. The week is designed to change the narrative and create a balanced view that focuses equally on talents and strengths.

It’s always special when former pupils return! This week, Issie and Bea, along with Mrs Clifford, Head of Year 7, and Mrs Holmes, Year 7 Pastoral Lead, from Westcliff High School for Girls, visited St Michael’s to talk to our Years 4 & 5 girls about the 11+ and the big move to secondary school. Pupils were so engaged and full of curiosity about secondary school life. We know parents found the afternoon presentation very helpful too.

What a wonderful connection between our schools!

Baby Michael has safely arrived at school and has been up to mischief already! Last time we saw him, he was having a little snooze in the library! It was so much fun to hear the giggles in assembly when we showed his school shenanigans!

Mrs Conlon is gearing up to transform his pristine white with vibrant colors, inspired by pupils’ amazing art competition designs! Stay tuned for sneak peeks as pupils from Nursery to Year 6 collaborate on his final outfit.

We’re thrilled to support #havenshospices and their #waddleonsea initiative! More details coming soon.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
