We are so proud of Harry from Year 6 who will be at the Houses of Parliament this afternoon at 2.30pm to take part in the Children’s Parliament’s upcoming Select Committee on Water Sustainability.
Water companies and related business will be in attendance and shall be grilled by this panel, with a list of topics and potential questions circulated prior to the Select Committee. The Children’s Members of Parliament will be supported by our local MP Anna Firth, as Parliamentary Chair, who is continuing the wonderful initiative founded by the late Sir David Amess.
Sir David believed to showcase democracy in action with our youngest members of society was a vital instrument for the betterment of all. He was in the process of championing the UK’s first Children’s Parliament for primary school students when he was tragically taken from us last year.
We are looking forward to hearing all about Harry’s experience which we are sure will be a memorable one.
(There will be a livestream via the Daily Express and will be covered by news teams in attendance.)
